How do we grow?

Clubs and members will be aware of the decline in the numbers of players and clubs in Nottinghamshire. At one time there were well over a hundred clubs playing in the Notts leagues but last season there were only 27 clubs, several of which struggled to field players for all their teams. For this reason the NBA Senior and Executive Committees are keen to discuss ideas about how this decline could be halted and consider what could help increase the numbers playing in the Notts Leagues.

We have started with a shortlist of key areas to focus on and a few suggested goals within each to get the ball rolling. The list is not exhaustive and it is hoped club members who have ideas, skills and interests to share will join in discussions to help us stop the rot. It is in all our interests to strengthen our club structure and encourage participation in our sport and we hope Nottinghamshire players will support the Committee in making some positive changes for the future.
